Contraction Casualty

The children in Year 2 spent the day working in contraction casualty! We dressed up as if we were working in an operating theatre and performed numerous contraction surgeries. We did this to help to see how we can make the contracted form of two words. When presented with the words "do not", we performed the surgery to form "don't". Wherever we had to cut a word, we used a plaster. This showed us where the apostrophe needed to go. Look at the fun we got up to!
