Nursery's Potato Harvest!

Today we dug up our potato plants and found lots of potatoes! They were all different shapes, sizes and colours. We counted over 60 potatoes, but some will be too tiny to eat! The children learned a lot about how food grows and where it comes from. They have also been using their counting and sorting skills to find out how many potatoes we dug up. We also washed the potatoes ready to make mashed potato for our snack tomorrow!

Y3W's Class Assembly

Today Y3W celebrated their learning of their topic 'Around the World' by sharing some of their work in their class assembly today. Each child had their own personal project where they chose a country and created a leaflet that shared information on that country. We were lucky enough to hear of fascinating countries such as Brazil, Finland, Iceland, Spain, USA, Japan and China!

The class also shared their incredible puppets that were based on a person from their chosen country. There were some incredible national outfits, from a hula girl to an Argentinian footballer!

Thank you so much for listening to our assembly!

Story planning in the sunshine!

Year 5 have been working on their own 'talk for writing' story plans- why don't you ask them to retell their mythical stories to you at home!

The Shirley Warren Community Choir sang at the Southampton Art Gallery as part of the celebrations of Southampton having City Status for 50 years. We sang for over an hour, singing a large variety of songs, with lots of positive feedback.

If you would like to join the choir, come along to The Parent Partnership Room every Thursday at 3.15pm, or speak to Mrs Mead. Enjoy a few clips of the songs we sung.
