Year 6's Woodmill adventure

Year 6 have had a brilliant time away on our camping trip to Woodmill. We arrived on Monday evening and quickly set to work putting up our tents - which we all found very exciting!

We then had dinner, played some games and enjoyed marshmallows and songs (and the occasional selfie) around the campfire.

Then it was time for a story and bed... not that we got enough sleep..!

The next day, we were in three groups to do three different activities: archery, climbing and raft-building. Let's just say we got a bit wet on the lake... sorry parents who had to do lots of washing/drying when we got home!

We have some very tired children after all that adventuring! What a great time!

Celebration Cupcakes for OFSTED

Today we were treated to these cupcakes from a member of staff who had them especially commissioned to celebrate our wonderful OFSTED "Good" rating a few weeks ago.

Staff were also invited to make a donation towards the Grenfell Tower Fire fund as the pupils had a non-uniform day too. We will post our donation total once the money is counted.

Fruit Kebabs at Nurture Group

In our school we are proud of our Nurture group which meets in the afternoons.  There are many activities and projects which this group is able to take part in, so here's a little flavour of one of our activities.

Last week the group decided to make fruit kebabs. First they had to choose which fruits they wanted.
Can you see what they chose?

What would you choose?

Can you see which fruit these children are cutting?

Chopping the fruit was fun, but we needed grown ups to help with the knives, as you can see.

Assembling the kebab was tricky work. We used steady hands and had to be concentrating carefully. Can you see which fruit is on this kebab?
Well done Nurture Group, we hope you enjoyed eating your healthy snack which you all put in so much effort to make.
