Y6 jazz band

Year 6 have been studying jazz in their music lessons this half term. They have learnt about jazz performers and styles aswell as learning to play jazz pieces. The biggest skill they have developed is 'improvising', where they make the music up on the spot.

Here are some clips from their performance to parents this morning.

Safer Internet Day in 3C

We had lots of fun celebrating Safer Internet Day in 3C. We spoke about our personal and online identity. We also discussed how to stay safe online and recapped our E-safety guide- Lock it, Block it, Show it, Tell it! Then we made some presentations to inform others how to stay safe online.

E-Safety Day in 6M!

After reviewing our e-safety charter and discussing the importance of using it, we read a variety of scenarios and responded with some top advice! A lot of our responses revolved around locking, blocking, showing and telling! Of course, we managed to squeeze in some of our excellent SPaG skills to make our advice sound convincing! Can you spot them?

Internet Safety Day

We were all asked for consent to be in the blog. Some of our class didn't want to be identified.

That was their choice. We all have a choice.

E Safety Day in 3H

Today, 3H spent the morning discussing how to stay safe online. We spoke about our online identity and how we all have the right to be happy and safe when using devices and going online. After these discussions, we created story boards to show how we stay safe online. Some of us used Comic Life to create information posters about effective passwords.

E-Safety Day in Year 1

In Year 1 we have been reminding ourselves of our e-safety charter, discussing what each point means and the importance of e-safety .

Our motto is lock it, block it, show it, tell it.

We learnt about 'Smartie the Penguin' and his adventures whilst on his new computer. We helped him, at each stage, to make the right choice:
- tell your adult
- block the message from a stranger
- do not open pop-ups

We also learnt a new song to remind Smartie of how to behave and keep safe on the computer.

'Before you click, click, click
You need to think, think, think
Then tell someone.

E-Safety Day in 6D!

Tuesday 11th February 2020!

E-Safety Day in 6D!

We started off the day by looking over our e-safety charter and discussing what each point means and the importance of e-safety as well as our motto, lock it, block it, show it, tell it.

After, we considered some scenarios and decided how we would offer advice to others, using the subjunctive form (something we have been focusing on in English). The children were superstars at this and really showed their understanding of how to keep safe online! :).

We then attended a Key Stage 2 assembly to discuss being safe online and ways in which we can do this.

Remember - LOCK IT, BLOCK IT, SHOW IT, TELL IT.

2A Maths Outdoor Learning

We've been learning Addition and Subtraction in Maths. We decided to get some fresh air and practise our adding and subtracting by playing a game of Snakes and Ladders on our huge, newly painted one hundred square! We had lots of fun! 😀 Thank you Mr Kelly for raising the money for the new playground markings.

2A Phonics

We've been enjoying some outdoor learning this week in 2A. We were practising the /ear/ trigraph in our Phonics lesson!
