Y4H Classification Workshop

This week in Year 4 we were very lucky to have Zoolab come in and talk to us about how we classify animals. We had the opportunity to hold various animals including: a hissing cockroach, a rat and a snake. We made sure we were quiet when the animals were out, so we didn't scare them. We were able to share our learning and knowledge that we already had about animals and how we can group them, e.g. vertebrates and invertebrates, but we also learnt a lot from the workshop about what the animals eat and the names of other classification groups. A new word that we learnt was exoskeleton; this is when the skeleton of the animal is on the outside of their body! Here are a few pictures to show you what we got up to during our classification workshop!
