Year 3 Roman shields and Roman bread

This week in Year 3 we have had a lot of fun making and baking with our topic of The Romans. Both classes were lucky enough to learn the skill of paper mache and create their very own Roman shield. As you can see in some of the pictures, the children even tried to recreate the famous Roman Tortoise formation that they used in battle. Some of these shields will be on display very soon! We also used our DT skills to make Roman bread, we looked at different recipes and chose one. We then used the method they had also used to create our own! All of the children really enjoyed getting their hands dirty! They all tried a piece of it and I had lots of children coming back for more!
