"Year 6 has been learning about Nelson Mandela's life this month, because it's Black History Month.
The whole school has been doing it. In Year 6 we have been writing a biography about Nelson Mandela and his life in Africa and we made a comic life showing his life in chronological order."

Governors at The Harvest Festival
I enjoyed attending the recent Harvest Assemblies where the Rev Debbie had the children tasting fruit from gardens mentioned in the Bible, I was one of those who enjoyed a slice of green apple- but missed out on the olives! Some great singing from the children – who obviously enjoyed the “Harvest Rock & Roll.”

World Maths Day in Year 6
The Year 6 children were very lucky to have some guests from Winchester University to help them with a project they were undertaking. They were looking at the book 'If The World Was A Village' and decided to make their own version about the Shirley Warren community. They made an e-book using the iPads, and this is a video of the book.......can you spot the dog food we mentioned previously on the blog?
Please click here and find 'If Shirley Warren and The World were villages.'

Today is No Pens Wednesday so in maths we decided to investigate different things we could do in one minute. For example: How many skips in one minute?
Recycling pens
We're having no pen day today and also we are putting pens that don't work in a box and we will send them to a charity who recycle them and raise money for Naomi House children's hospice.
Please bring in any pens that don't work from home so we can collect lots and raise lots of money for charity.
