Reception RG and RS make conker creatures
We have been creative with our Autumn treasures. We made some hedgehogs and monsters. We counted how many sticks and eyes we used. We are very good at our numbers now.
Autumn Leaves
The Nursery children have been busy finding autumn leaves! During group time they sorted them according to size. The children used lots of mathematical language such as big, little, bigger, smaller and biggest and smallest. They were also talking about the different shapes and colours they could see.

Success in energy league tables
We have just received the latest results from Southampton schools energy audit and we came 11th out of all the primary, secondary and special schools in saving energy.
We used 53% less electricity than last year, and 12% less gas than last year which is brilliant. Ema our Eco worm has been checking all classes each week and may now start looking at how we reuse resources.

RG becoming authors
This week in RG we have launched our writers workshop sessions. We have decorated our books and started writing using the letter sounds that we have been learning. We have then been using sharing time to celebrate our great work and either tell our friends something we liked about their writing or something they could try next time.

Question 1.
Question 2.
Question 3.
Question 4.
Question 5.
These questionnaires are completely anonymous. Please get as many people as you can to answer the questions. We will be using the results to make graphs that help us to understand the results.

Harvest Festival
We had a lovely Harvest celebration where children were very generous in donating a large variety of food. Rev Debbie came and spoke to all the children, and we also sang some harvest songs. All the food donated has gone to Basics Bank.
French Assembly
We were very lucky to have one of Miss Lott's very exciting French assemblies today, and we read the story of The Very Hungry Caterpillar in FRENCH (or should we say 'La Chenille qui fait des trous.') We learnt many new French words and had great fun joining in. Merci bien Miss Lott.
Year 1 Shop
In Mathematics this week we have leaning coins and buying things. Check out the Year 1 shop - full of healthy foods linked with our Science work of healthy foods and our bodies.

Harvest Festival
A quick reminder to all pupils and parents of Shirley Warren that we are holding our Harvest Festival tomorrow at 9.15 for YR, Y1, Y2 and 10.00 for Y3, Y4, Y5, Y6 classes in the top hall. We think of the unfortunate ones as well, so don't forget to bring your donation of tinned or dried food. Your donation will go to the Basics Bank. What happens to all the food next? If you would like to find out, more details will follow.
What would we like in our new world?
Today Y3R discussed what would love to keep if we had a new world and what would we like to get rid of. They came up with so many good ideas! The children really wanted to get rid of bullying and cyber bullying in particular, which links to a lot of work we have done with e-safety! We are also so lucky to have some Eco class members who want to get rid of littering and would love people to start recycling all of their rubbish. We are looking forward to seeing our positive leaves on the school tree!
