Year One a Superhero Day

We are ready for our superhero day here in 1N! Everyone looks fantastic and we are inspired to create some fantastic ideas for our writing!

We explored our playground today and searched for signs of Spring. They were so beautiful that we decided to sit and sketch them in our Art books.

We are so proud of a certain someone winning the end of term Good Egg Award... This is how we celebrated. How lovely it is to see such companionship and pride for each other in our pupils! Very proud teacher moment!

Y1N Mannequin Challenge

In Y1N we like to keep up to date with the latest trends... and don't we do it well!

No Pens Wednesday in 1N

We are taking part in No Pens Wednesday today and this means that we aren't allowed to use pencils or pens ALL day! So, we took this fantastic opportunity to explore this beautiful Autumn day. In Science we learn all about seasonal changes, so we have learnt all about what the weather is like in Autumn, what it looks like outside and typical Autumn clothes, raising lots of interesting questions and becoming curious about the world around us. We went outside and explored our surroundings, on the hunt for Autumn objects, then we used them to create some beautiful art work this afternoon! We can't wait to explore Winter when it comes next! 

Year One Traveled Around the UK!

In Year One we have started to learn all about aviation and the countries in the United Kingdom. We decided we wanted to write an exciting adventure story about flying around the UK on an aeroplane. So, we created our own aeroplane in our school hall and flew to the different countries where we learned lots about the characteristics of each country... including special foods! We had so much fun and really enjoyed being passengers on Year One Airways!

Review of Key Stage 1 Spring 1 dance : 3 Little Pigs

The children explored how sticks, grass and straw moves and created word banks on how they moved. They used these word banks to create their 3 little pigs dance. They also explored how sticks and straws would jump and turn in different ways.
