The Big Battery Hunt at Shirley Warren

As a school, we want to do our bit for the environment.

Recently we applied to be part of The Big Battery Hunt and our collecting boxes have arrived.
There are 4 clear tubs.

We are going to have a competition to see who can fill the most.
There will be tubs in Early Years (RG), KS1 (2A), KS2 (5D) and the School Office.
At the end of the Summer Term we will seee who has collected the most.

So get out your old batteries and bring them to school to be recycled.

Shocking Science in Y6!

Year 6 have been planning their own experiments using what they have learnt about electricity. Here are some of our questions:

Does the number of wires in a circuit affect the brightness of the bulb?
How many bulbs can be powered by a single cell?

We have been thinking carefully about how circuits work, including the flow of electricity and which materials conduct electricity.

Y4H Home-School Projects

Y4H have been busy creating home projects based on electricity. They made powerpoints and posters, based on famous electricians, how circuits work and how to be safe when using electricity. Well done to all those who had a go, you had some brilliant work!
