Brilliant bones!
Here in reception the children have shown a big interest in their bodies. We have been talking about our veins, hearts and skeletons. We have provided lots of activities to help the children support their fascination and look at what great work they are doing!

Friendship in Reception
This week we have had some lovely coloured string added to our making tables. We are following the children’s interests in making friendship bracelets. Yesterday the children asked for adults to plait them for them but today they are trying themselves! It is a great activity for developing our fine motor skills and perseverance as it is a tricky job but they’re doing fantastic! This also fits in well with anit-bullying week so we have been using this as an opportunity to talk about what a good friend looks likein Reception.

We are having lots of fun trying to build our Lego presents from Santa. It is a little bit tricky but we are trying really hard to follow the instructions independently!

Halloween in Year 2
In Year 2, during our Plan Do Review, we used Halloween as an inspiration for different crafts. We carved pumpkins, discussing the different 2D shapes we were using. We also made 'Trick or Treat' pots, where our Science topic all about materials proved very helpful. We had some great fun and our pumpkins were used as decoration in the Halloween Disco. Well done!

Lovely mud!
We are super excited in Reception today because of all the rain! It has made the perfect conditions for our mud kitchen and we are busy making delicious chocolate cakes and mud pies. The mud is hard so we're having to use our strong muscles to dig it up and then mix it with other ingredients. Look at our concoctions!

Spooky happenings in Year 1!
We had Plan, Do and Review this afternoon in Year 1. Some children planned to go to the making area and make masks... Miss Jones definitely hadn't prepared herself to be scared by two vampires and a zombie!!!
