Y4 at the Guildhall

Year 4 pupils took part in a city-wide music concert. We went to the Guildhall in Southampton and played together with lots of other schools from the city. The met the composer of the piece and followed our conductor carefully.

We had an amazing time and felt very proud of ourselves!

Y4 Music Concert

Year 4 performed on mini bassoons, violas, trumpets and flutes for their mums and dads. This is part of the In2Music project where children learn to play a musical instrument all year.

The children played and sang and everyone was really impressed.

Well done Year 4!

Year 4 are In2Music!

Year 4 performed on trumpets, flutes, mini-bassoons and violas today. They have been learning their instruments since September as part of our In2Music Project. Mrs Mead and Mrs Bullas were supported by Mr Hart and Mrs Clowes from Southampton Music Services. The children have started their instrumental journey and are sounding fantastic. They have shown determination and resilience trying something new and tricky. We are so excited about hearing their improvement throughout the next year.

Year 4 are In2Music

Year 4 have come to the end of their first half term learning to play orchestral instruments. We all played together today and all the teachers were blown away by how well the children can already play their instruments. We can't wait to perform to all the parents at Christmas!

Year 4's In2Music concert trip!

Year 4 had a busy but brilliant day on a music trip this week. They have been working hard on their In2Music pieces to get ready for the concert at Central Hall on Wednesday.

Throughout the term, they have been working on a variety of brilliant music to prepare for the concert, like I Feel Good and the Doctor Who theme tune.

From when we got to Central Hall, the children worked very hard. They behaved brilliantly even though we had to practice for a long time to get ready to perform, and were extremely professional and patient whilst waiting! As a treat for being brilliant, we even got to see Cordelectra perform a few songs before the concert which was amazing (and we've been playing their CD all week in class)!

Here are some photos.
