They tasted pretty good too!!

Music Technology Workshop
KS2 enjoyed and assembly and workshop this morning. Matt Brombley from Southampton Music Hub told us all about music technology. We composed and performed a song, using Auxy (a free music app) in assembly. In the workshop 20 children from Y5/6 composed songs using live loops in Garageband and wrote their lyrics.

Green Council Thanks You!
Here at Shirley Warren, we take Pupil Voice seriously.
We have our Green Council which is made up of 2 pupils from each year group from years 1-6. These are voted for by their peers and it is an honour to serve on Green Council.
Recently, Green Council wanted to have more playground equipment and their idea was to write a letter to parents asking for dressing up clothes that are no longer needed.
We were so pleased to see so many outfits that we took time out from our Green Council discussions to model them and to say a big thank you to everyone who contributed.
You can still send costumes in if you like!

2W E-safety day
Year 2 read the story DigiDuck's Big Decision and discussed what kinds of things should and shouldn't be shared on the internet and why.
ESafety in year 3S
We had a great time completing different activities for ESafety day. We worked well with our groups to create comic life comics to show how we might feel about different situations! We had a lot of fun showing our faces in reaction to the situations, some of the faces were very funny!

5C Safer Internet Day
E-Safety Day in Reception
Today for E-Safety Day RS and RG got together to listen to the story of Smartie the Penguin. Smartie learns how to use the internet safely and what to do if he feels sad or worried about anything. We then learnt 'Lock it, Block it, Show it, Tell it'. We learnt that passwords keep our things safe and we shouldn't tell anyone our names or where we live. We learnt to not click on links that we don't know and block things we don't like. Our main learning was to make sure if we feel unsure, worried or sad about anything we either show or tell a grown up we trust. Watch our video to see!
E-safety Day in Y4H!
Today is e-safety day; to help us promote how to be safe online, especially with online images, we created animations to show and spread the message.
We used an app called 'I Can Animate.' We had to be careful not to move the camera when we were taking the pictures so that the video clip at the end was not jumpy!
Here is an example of one of our animations:
Safer Internet Day in Year 6
Year 6 have been busy developing their understanding of how to keep themselves safe online for Safer Internet Day!
Firstly, we looked at pictures which had been edited to change them, and talked about how what we see online may not be genuine. Then, we talked about our own experiences of keeping ourselves safe. We decided that we should never follow or accept requests from anyone we don't know, and that any accounts must always be locked with a password and kept to 'private'. We looked at Cinderella's online profile - there was so much information we could learn about her!

We have made excellent quizzes on E-Safety using Google Slides. In particular, we practiced making our slides link using clickable buttons! Here is an example of one of our quizzes. Unfortunately we cannot play it on the blog, but you can see the types of questions we asked!
Remember: lock it, block it, show it and tell it!
Making Gingerbread Men
We enjoyed making Gingerbread men in Pre-nursery this week. We all took it in turns to add the the ingredients to the mixture. Once the mixture was ready we used the rolling pin to roll the dough out. Using a Gingerbread Man cutter we pushed it into the dough then placed them on a baking tray and out them in the oven to cook.
