Nurture Quality Mark Award

It was a proud day here at Shirley Warren Primary as Councellor Paffey presented the Nurture team with the 'Marjory Boxall Quality Award' in recognition of meeting the quality standards mark for our Nurture Provision.  This is a great achievement for Mrs Bedwell, Miss Allen and SENCo Mrs Dinnage who have worked hard to gain this award.  We would like to thank representatives from the Nurture Network who accompanied Councellor Paffey.

Sing Up Day

Our choir took part in national Singup Day, back in March this year. Children from across the federation came together to sing.

Singup have a created a video of all the schools across the world who took part. Try and spot us if you can!

Singup Day!

We celebrated national singup day by hosting a federation choirs event. Choir from Newlands, Sinclair, Holy Family and Fairisle joined our Key Stage 2 choir for an afternoon of singing. The children sounded amazing and had a fabulous afternoon.

Year 4 children at the Ski Slope

There was a very exciting expedition to the Dry Ski Slope in Southampton. A selection of Year 4 children from schools across the Federation, including Shirley warren, had a whole morning learning how to ski. When the children first arrived, they were pretty nervous about this new experience, but by the end, they were all skiing down the slope. Amazing! Check out the photos to see how they did.

Federation Book Club

Three Year 5 children went to the Southampton Central Library to take part in the first ever 'Redbridge and Lordshill Federation' Book Club. 3 children from each of the participating schools read one of 3 books. They were 'Twelve Minutes to Midnight' by Christopher Edge, 'Over The Line' by Tom Palmer, and 'A Boy Called Hope' by Lara Williamson. They read the books over the Christmas holidays, and met at the library to chat to the other children at the other schools who had read the same books. They has some very interesting discussions, and we will publish the reviews they made soon. They were superstars, and hopefully this will be first of many Book Clubs.
